Stop Cylinders

Sprint Drives Stop Cylinders deliver advanced, position-controlled stopping power for precision tooling and press systems. Engineered to allow full control over the stroke position via an electrical signal, these cylinders offer programmable stopping, slow return speeds, and complete system synchronization—ideal for high-precision industrial operations.
Unlike standard gas springs or cylinders, Stop Cylinders provide on-demand halting during the stroke and controlled return, ensuring superior safety and accuracy in every cycle.
How It Works
The complete Stop Cylinder system consists of:
A working cylinder (oil-filled)
A pressure accumulator (gas-charged to 150 Bar)
A manifold/adaptor plate connecting the system
An electrically controlled hydraulic valve
During operation, the press movement activates the working cylinder, displacing hydraulic fluid into the accumulator via the manifold plate. Once the desired stroke position is reached, the electrically commanded hydraulic valve halts the flow, effectively stopping the stem.
When return is required, the valve reopens, allowing the hydraulic volume to flow back, returning the stem to its original position.
